Back in 2015, I bought a minivan that was worth half as much as my mountain bike. I was transitioning out of a career in the outdoor industry that had a “work hard but play harder” philosophy and into business consulting, which I anticipated would consume many nights and weekends. Before accepting my new reality, I decided to embark on a 4-month journey through the Rockies and Baja California with all the necessary gear and supplies in tow. I loved the loosely defined and simple freedom of meandering from campsite to campsite and uncovering many gems of the west I had so far overlooked.
